What you'll need
A soft measuring tape (like a sewing tape) works best — a rigid ruler also works. You'll measure directly on your wheelchair seat, not your body. Take measurements to the nearest whole inch for the best fit result.

Measurement One
Seat Width — Left to Right
How to measure seat width
- 1Sit in your wheelchair in your normal position, or have someone measure while the seat is empty.
- 2Place one end of your tape at the inner edge of the left seat rail — where the seat surface begins, not the armrest.
- 3Stretch it straight across to the inner edge of the right seat rail, keeping the tape horizontal.
- 4Record this as your Seat Width. Example: 18 inches.
Tip: Do NOT measure across armrests — measure only the usable seat surface.

Seat Depth — Front to Back
How to measure seat depth
- 1Keep your tape measure on the seat surface, facing the wheelchair from the side.
- 2Place one end at the back of the seat — where it meets the backrest or back support.
- 3Stretch it straight forward along the center of the seat to the front edge.
- 4Record this as your Seat Depth. Example: 20 inches.
Tip: Measure along the top surface of the seat — not underneath or along the frame.
